Mac Flynn was born one cold February morning in 1984 in the northern wilds of Washington State. At a young age she showed a fondness for reading. She couldn’t get enough of all the different stories that were opened to her merely by flipping a page, and during early grade school she even tried her hand at a (very) short story about a group of friendly spiders.
Her fondness for reading marched into her college years where she discovered the strange and fantastic world of fanfiction. It was a boundless well of literary dreck with a few gems hidden in the mud. Her first efforts contributed to that muck. She also picked up another hobby, that of website and graphic design, and toyed around with the long-gone GeoCities coding to create even more muck.
In 2007, armed with a history degree in nothing special and a resume as slim as a wire-haired dachshund, Mac went out into the world with no idea what she wanted to do. Marriage was the first effort, and that led her away from writing to a wide array of odd jobs from gardener to attorney’s assistant. That is, until she found herself unemployed in late 2012 and with no prospects outside of flipping burgers.
Time was now hers, and she heard about a promising venture called ‘self-publishing.’ She dusted off her hobbies acquired in college and went out to rule the world, or at least make a dime. After a few months, in December 2012, she published the first installment of her first series. It wasn’t Tolkien by any stretch of the imagination (even hers), but armed with renewed confidence she began churning out several serials a year.
Novels, however, tempted her, and in 2014 she wrote her first true book, Alpha Initiation, a werewolf romp. The effort encouraged her to continue on the path to the many novel series now seen in her catalog. A curious reader can find werewolves, dragons, vampires and more among the many pages on her website, and all the first books in those series are available for free for anyone with an insatiable appetite but an empty wallet.
